Mission Statement
Our Medical Records is a non profit organization being created to provide a service to individuals who wish to organize, manage and ensure their medical records are complete and accurate. They will then be able to give their healthcare providers access to these complete and accurate records anytime of the day anywhere in the world.
Our Medical Records participation is of course voluntary so that it is up to the individual to decide (or appropriate surrogate) whether to make use of the service. Our Medical Records will be a service that exists to serve the needs of the individual patient and therefore will strive to keep the cost of medical records management low through the use the new technologies. A long term goal is to set up automated data exchange with all sources of data such as heath care service organizations, insurance companies and even pharmacies.
Our Medical Records will enable patients to check for accurate information and make appropriate updates concerning non prescription medications supplements, and nontraditional treatments. OMR will serve the community by the reduction of cost of handling medical records and the costs associated with incomplete or incorrect medical information not to mention the human suffering which results from incomplete or incorrect medical information.
Our Medical Records will observe the highest standard of integrity, quality and privacy for all members remembering we are all patients. Employees will be required to be members. Security will be the highest priority. Our Medical Records will challenge the community to contribute whatever they can in terms of time, talents, technology and financial assistance.
